Foundation repair is a very difficult task to do. Every home needs this type of repair. Because each home needs the better foundation repair and underlying soil condition which can be different. There is nothing like that an answer which applies to all concrete foundation situations. There are many cases in the foundation repairs. For each case, engineer examines it individually. These cases are referred to the professional foundation repair contractor. So now we will discuss about the foundation techniques, first of all, there is concrete foundation which needs leveling and underpinning these operations are performed by the help piers.
The piers are used to provide support for an area of the foundation that needs to be raised. There are four main types of piers used in underpinning and leveling are helical piers, steel piers, drilled concrete piers and concrete pressed pilings. There are techniques which are used in the foundation repairs that are Resistance or push piers, helical piers, and drilled pier.
Push piers are the best in the lifting. Push piers have great lifting potential for foundation repair. Having the best lifting potential is very necessary in ramming and pushing down into the ground. The weight of the structure is used as a counter-force to hydraulically push these piers into the ground. Helical piers are most often used to support a concrete slab but not lift it. These types of piers are twisted into the ground much like a corkscrew. Each pier has one or more “flights” that are like blades that do the pulling into the ground. Helical piers are very useful in other applications such as tie-backs. Helical piers can be used in pre-construction situations. They are installed before the foundation is placed to prevent any future foundation settlement. Drilled pier method forms a shaped foot in load bearing soil and is reinforced with rebar. For this, there is a depth, size and the location of the shafts can be custom designed for your house. So there will no disturbance in the underground section so you can take calm from that.
